About the Urdu Typing Pad (phonetic keyboard)

Type Urdu with a normal English keyboard. Press the key that sounds like the letter: b for ب, p for پ, t for ت, T (capital) for ٹ, s for س, and so on. The pad shows the Urdu text as you type, and you can copy it into WhatsApp, Word, Facebook or an email.

There is nothing to install and it works on phones too. Your text is saved on your device, so it is still there if you close the page. You can switch to Urdu digits (۱۲۳) if you need them.

For text already typed in Roman Urdu (for example “aap kaise hain”), use the Roman Urdu to Urdu converter instead.

How to use it

  1. Add your inputType or paste your input. Many tools already show an example you can change.

Questions

How do I type ے and ی?

Press y for ے and i for ی. Open “Which key makes which letter” under the pad to see every key; capital letters give extra letters, such as T for ٹ.

Do I need to install an Urdu keyboard?

No. It works in the browser with your normal keyboard.

Is my text sent anywhere?

No. It stays in your browser.
