Are these AI tools really free?
Yes. In Chrome the AI runs on your computer, so there is no cost per use and no sign-up.
Which browsers have the built-in AI?
Google Chrome on Windows 10 or 11, macOS 13 or newer, Linux and Chromebook Plus, on a computer with at least 16 GB of memory or a graphics card with more than 4 GB. The first use downloads the model once.
Is my text sent anywhere?
Not with the built-in AI. If you choose to open the prompt in ChatGPT or Claude, it goes to that service.
Can AI make mistakes?
Yes. Always read and check the result before you use it.
